Despite the future being non-existent, I have collated some images and ideas of what the future may hold for our civilisation...
Assuming that civilisation continues it's current trends, most experts would predict a massively growing population that uses the rapidly advancing technology to expand into space, beginning another colonisation race, akin to when the Europe discovered the Americas. Growing demand and diminishing natural resources may well cause some major problems for humanity but can they cooperate enough to apply their growing technological power to solve these problems and what will it cost us?
Many potentially devastating threats endanger the world as we know it. Climate change, nuclear war, plague, asteroids and meteors are just a few possible causes of the devastation or end of our civilisation. A post apocalyptic world could look very different to our own, or slowly decay like a ghostly relic of humanities past.
Many scientists agree that, statistically speaking, it is very unlikely that we are alone in this galaxy. Aliens have been a popular part of the media's predictions for our future, be they horrifying invaders, potential friends or something completely unlike life as we know it..
Looking at the way that technology is advancing now, we can expect to see some amazing new creations and discoveries such as advanced robotics, artificial intelligence, energy weapons, cybernetics and plenty of space exploration. As the current rate of progress is exponential, the accuracy with which we can predict 100 years of advancement is sketchy at best but we can expect amazing advancements in the near future so technology of 3000 AD would seem almost magical to us!
