Lola: Steam-punk Engineer N.P.C.
I drew this non-player character in Photoshop using a graphics tablet and a photograph of a lady in steam-punk attire as reference. I used several layers to separate the areas of colour such as clothes, skin, bionics, etc. The graphics tablet proved very helpful for free-hand drawing and shading with a selection of brushes. Using a selection of masks and selection tools helped build up geometric shapes such as the bionics and restrict shading to the right areas. Some free cog-shaped Photoshop brushes came in handy for adding mechanical details and decorating her corset plus other miscellaneous mechanical shaped brushes. I have really enjoyed this character and think that the tools and techniques used were very effective and will prove useful for further projects.
