Client/Business contact information:
Web address- http://www.launch22.co.uk/liverpool-home
Liverpool centre address- 12 Tithebarn Street, Liverpool, L2 2DT
Telephone- 01515159322
Client Background/Overview:
The client will be Launch 22- a studio in Liverpool for businesses and professionals to work, network and collaborate. They are offering a business start-up grant to the student team with the best business idea pitch.
Project Overview:
I will be using this project as a character pitch to the students I will be collaborating with to create a web comic. I will be outlining the basics of the main character (Lucidara), setting and themes as well as depicting the main character clearly for reference.
The character will be the basis for our next main web comic project and should be outlined visually and thematically. The deliverables should be inspiring and good reference for future work.
Deliverables:
I will design and create a character, based on my chosen themes for inspiration, namely Ancient Egypt and Vampires. I will produce a clear character design sheet, illustrating the character and giving important information regarding their personality and role in the story.
The second deliverable will be a 3d mesh of the character -made in Mudbox- that can be used for reference and the basis for future art projects.
The final deliverable will be a piece of art featuring the character to be used for promotional material and/or cover art.
Target audience:
The target audience will be comic and fantasy fans. The majority of consumers are expected to be 17-30 year-olds and/or from the gothic sub-culture.
Image and Tone of Voice:
1- The character design sheet will feature an image of the main character for reference, images of related paraphernalia such as weapons, alternate outfits, etc. It should also feature a character description outlining the basics of her background, personality and role in the story. The deliverable will be informative and clear, adhering to the main themes of the project.
2- A 3d model of the main character with screenshots from multiple angles. The model is mainly for reference so poses are less important, so long as they are simple and not obstructive.
3- The promotional art will feature the main character and possibly the setting and a secondary-character or two. It will be developed for entertainment purposes and providing inspiration for working on the comic so appealing appearance is key to this piece.
Schedule:
See schedule planner.
Costing:
Costs should be minimal as I already have the tools and materials needed, i.e. PC, graphics tablet, software, internet access and workspace. I will not include fees for my own time or research costs.
